Home Sweet Home

My first semester of college is officially over. Wow. Crazy. Still can't believe that I'm in college. Yesterday was a traveling day. All. Day. Long. So exhausting. But now I'm home in Kansas and loving it. Such a great comfort. You don't realize how great it is to have a mom who makes food for you and has a warm, clean bed ready for you. But now that I'm home it feels like my first semester was just a dream. I feel like everything I did was just part of my imagination. It is seriously such a different world compared to home life.
This past week a few friends of mine and I went to the Salt Lake Temple Square to see it all lit up with Christmas lights. Sooooo beautiful. It was such a fun night. I will seriously miss my friends over the break, but they will still be there when I get back so it's okay.

I'm finally getting back into the swing of blogging...let's just hope it stays that way. You will be hearing from me again soon though. I plan on baking and cooking a lot, so I will share my recipes. I will also be doing a lot of fun things with family so I will share pictures from that. Hope your day is fabulous like mine always is. jk...but really.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel...

Wow. It's already finals week for my first semester of college. Dang. Time has flown by sooo fast. I wish I had blogged more about the things I did. I have met so many incredible people and have grown so close to the friends I already had and the new ones I have made.

But finals week is going so well actually. It is only Tuesday and I only have 1 final left! Party! I haven't been stressed out almost this entire semester at all. College is just awesome.

At the end of this week I get to fly home to Kansas! I'm so excited to go back home and be with family and enjoy home cooked meals and doing absolutely NOTHING for about 3 weeks. It's gonna be soo nice.

To get into the Christmas spirit though....I thought you might like to enjoy this video from Miranda. She gives proof that Santa is real....? Guess she would know!

Well I plan on posting more frequently now that I remembered I have a blog.

Have a fantabulous day!

College life = AWESOME SAUCE

Wow...it's been about 3 months since I've posted anything. Guess that just shows how busy I've been enjoying my COLLEGE LIFE!!!!!! And so much has happened I think it would take years to talk about it all. So maybe I will just give you the highlights of my almost perfect life. :)
Allie and me on our first day of college!
So the first thing is that I live with my best friend, Allie. How great is that? We have never had a fight to this day and every day for us = a party. No lie. We've gotten...very close since we've been roomies. We don't get a ton of sleep either cuz we can talk for hours. Legitimately.

Eating PB with chocolate chips at midnight for my bday!
The next thing is that I love my roommates! I would say we get along pretty well considering living in a dorm with 6 girls! We like to have random dance parties and we love baking and cooking and eating food together. On my birthday (I turned 19 in October btw...) we waited until midnight the night before my birthday to start the celebrations. We had a dance party and ate spoonfuls of peanut butter in my honor. :) Is it possible to have too much fun?

Allie and me at a BYU Football game!
Yet another exciting thing is all the sports events!! They                            are so dang exciting. When you are surrounded by all the other students you just can't help but scream and cheer for your team. We LOVE going to the football and basketball games. Basketball is probably my favorite. Allie and I usually go to the football games with our friend Cameron from back home, but for the basketball games we go with our new friends from our ward.

My friends and I at a Halloween Dance! We were pretty awesome.

Probably the greatest part of college life is making all these new friends. Aside from hanging with roommates and my friends from back home, Allie and I have become extremely close with this girl named EMILY ATWOOD!! She is the greatest. Us three (Allie, Emily, and I) have already decided to be roommates next year in an apartment! :) So exciting. Our friends we refer to as "72" or "the boys." These guys (Ryan, Dane, and Nate) are pretty dang awesome too. We literally hang out almost every day with 72 and Emily...we've kinda become each other's pseudo families. We are super tight, and I will really miss the boys when they leave on their missions. :( But I will definitely be writing them when they leave!

Basically my life is full of adventures and all I ever wanna do is have fun. Sadly, I'm here at college to go to school and do homework. Bleh. Homework. It never ends!!!!!! Somehow I am able to juggle school, work, church, friends, and family. I think I may put more emphasis on friends... :)

Hopefully I will be able to get back into my blogging habits...but who knows. I'll do my best.

Confessions of an 18-year-old: Forever 21

So my next obsession I will tell you about is my love for the lovely store Forever 21. I get so excited every time I go to that store. It is such a wonderful place. I definitely wish I didn't have to pay for college right now because I would go shopping there all the time if I could. :(
But now that we are talking about clothes and things...I definitely have an obsession. Clothes, shoes, purses, scarves, jewelry, hair accessories, and anything else you wear...I LOVE IT! I had the hardest time moving from Kansas to Utah and having to pack everything up to fit. Holy cow! Talk about a challenge. I went through my stuff over and over this summer just so I can fit everything in. So I'm crossing my fingers it all fits in my dorm room. Otherwise, I'm doomed. My roommate already told me she's not lending me any of her space in the closet. It's probably for the best.

Weekend Escapades

Pierre and Ashley with our fancy dinner
Pierre (cute face) and me eating dinner
So here is the promised update on the fun weekend I had. On Friday it was Pierre's birthday so we definitely celebrated that. Ashley made a fancy dinner for us three. Then we opened presents of course! After all that Jordan and Jessica (my brother and his wife) came over for cake and just hanging out. We ate this delicious cake from Kneaders called a Charlotte cake, I believe. Very delightful. It's kinda awesome having a French brother-in-law because you get introduced to different food that is soo good. Then all five of us played the Game of Life! Good times. Jordan and Jess have a version with gambling or the Spin to Win. Definitely gets your adrenaline going. :) On Saturday Jordan and Jessica came over for crepes and crescents for breakfast. Oh so delicious. Yet again...good advantages to having a foreign brother-in-law. Then in the late afternoon we all ventured to Pierre's sister's in-law's house. What a house. They live in Alpine and have a REAL nice house. Don't worry, I took pictures for you to see. :) We swam for a few hours and then we had a most delightful bbq. It was a blast too! French people are awesome. jk. but really.

The beautiful Charlotte cake from Kneaders
Now it is Sunday, obviously, and it has been wonderful so far. This afternoon we (Pierre, Ash, and I) are going to Jordan and Jessica's for a late lunch then we are all heading to my Grandma and Grandpa Lewis' for a fun little get together with snacks and socializing. What we do best! Well now that you are bored, enjoy some pictures from my weekend escapades!

Confessions of an 18-year-old: Justin Bieber

So I already confessed of my love for One Direction. Now I must tell you of my addiction to Justin Bieber. I have to admit...it's definitely not like the 1D obsession. I would definitely choose One Direction over Bieber...but I still enjoy him. :) Have you seen his new music video? Well here is your chance.  But now I have to get on with my day. I'm going to my brother-in-law's sister's in-law's house...did you catch that? We're gonna swim and have a bbq. Pretty excited! I will tell you about my fun weekend later.

Confessions of an 18-year-old: One Direction

There are a few things that I am currently obsessed with. So I will share these things with you...one day at a time of course. The first is One Direction. I don't know what it is...but I'm hooked. Their humor, good looks, fun songs.....did I mention attractiveness?? I can't get over it. Sometimes I find myself watching video after video..so what.. right? Is this a problem? I don't think so...  :)

Drooling and smiling,

New adventures

Recently I moved to Provo, UT! I am going to attend BYU (Brigham Young University). I am also going to be rooming with my best friend of all time, Allie Jensen. It should be fabulous. Currently I am living with my sister and her husband until I can actually move into my dorm. But now that I have all this time on my hands, I decided to bake something. My sister has an abundance of peaches for some odd reason so I decided to make peach cobbler. It was soo good! I have never made it before and it was a super easy recipe. So I thought I would share it with you guys so you can enjoy it as well. I have definitely eaten my fair share of it. :)
